Connemara Creative

About

Bernie Dignam's studio overlooks the Twelve Bens in the heart of North Connemara in County Galway. All the art created by Bernie is inspired by the beautiful local landscape. Everyone is welcome to visit the studio, where you can book a talk about the processes, techniques and inspiration for her work. The art practice operates in a sustainable way where possible. Bernie uses wax from a beehive and the natural dyes come from plants she grows herself. These natural dyes are then used in Bernie Dignam's work.

Bernie responds to her surroundings through a contemporary lens. The textiles utilise ancient traditional techniques like weaving, felt making and batik. Bernie Dignam, as a fine art printmaker, uses a variety of techniques, facilitating the articulation of personal, cultural and environmental issues using metaphors.

Visitors can browse a range of greeting cards, posters, giclée prints, alongside original pieces. There is framed and unframed work, with some miniature pieces. Gallery visits must be arranged by appointment.
