Cork Butter Museum
About
The Cork Butter Museum describes the culture of dairying in ancient Ireland and the growth of the Cork Butter Exchange, at one time the biggest in the world, when tens of millions of pounds worth of butter was traded annually.
Learn about the craft of traditional butter making. This part of the museum includes a brief video presentation showing the making of butter by hand and an attractive video presentation of the development of Ireland’s most famous butter brand, Kerrygold. New to the museum's collection of dairying parnaphelia including milk churns and a keg containing one thousand year old butter, is a display of butter bricks.
