Gáinne Mór Alpacas

About

Gáinne Mór Alpacas is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way, in the scenic inlet area of Sheephaven Bay, in Downings, County Donegal.

A family run business, Gáinne Mór Alpacas originally raised the alpacas for their fleeces as alpacas are renowned for having some of the silkiest, most versatile and sustainable fibres found in nature. Realising that people didn't know a lot about alpacas, the family saw the potential to change that and now offer alpaca walks on their farmland and alpaca farm visits by appointment. You can take one of these stunning animals for a walk lasting approximately 60 minutes. After the walk you can avail of a farm tour and learn about the process and steps involved in creating yarn from the alpaca fleeces.

Gáinne Mór Alpacas also offer a Meet and Greet Experience and these are ideal for any age group. The experience lasts approximately 1 hour, where you get to spend time hand feeding the alpacas, getting to know their personalities and learning about their history. Alpacas are not only beautiful animals, they are also naturally inquisitive and very friendly. Capture some wonderful family memories with the alpacas, which are known to be very photogenic animals.
