Glen Loop - Bunnyconnellan

A-B. From the trailhead follow the purple (and green) arrows out the back of the car park to join an old roadway. (The green arrows are for the shorter Drumsheen Loop). Turn right and follow the arrows to reach a junction with the R294 - cross with caution and join a bog road. Note that you are also overlapping now on the Foxford Way - a long distance walking route marked with the familiar yellow walking man and arrows. After 200m you reach a 3-way junction - you will return to this point near the end of your walk - for now turn right. Follow the bog road for 1km where it turns sharp right. Shortly after this bend the Foxford Way turns left - but you continue straight ahead.
B-C. Continue to follow the purple and green arrows as the loop takes you along a series of bog roads for 3km when you join a surfaced roadway and turn right. Follow this roadway for 600m to a crossroads - turn right onto a sandy road. After 300m you cross the R294 and join a minor road. Another 300m takes you to a sharp left bend - where the Drumsheen Loop (green arrows) goes straight - you turn left and stay on the surfaced road.
C-D. Follow this road through the ‘glen’ for 3km before joining the R294 again on the border of Counties Mayo and Sligo! Cross with care.
D-A. Now you join an old ‘famine road’ that takes you westward toward the trailhead. After 1.5km you regain the 3-way junction mentioned in A above - this time continue straight, after 200m cross the R294 for the last time and enjoy the last 100m back to the trailhead.
