Mount Usher Gardens
About
Mount Usher Gardens was created by four generations of the Walpole family beginning in 1868. It is recognised at home and abroad as one of the earliest and finest examples of a Robinsonian garden. Many rare and exotic species are found within the extensive collection of plants, which is also known for its magnificent display of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and magnolias. As you explore the gardens, you will come across charming wooden bridges, nooks, and peaceful seating areas where you can pause and appreciated the beauty of the surroundings.
In addition to the beautifully landscaped gardens, visitors will find the Avoca Garden Café which serves seasonal, freshly prepared breakfast, brunch and lunch with views over the gardens. Housed beside the café is the Avoca gift shop, an artisanal food market and a shopping outlet.
Mount Usher Gardens welcomes guided group tours of the gardens throughout the year by appointment.
