Rathvilly Motte
About
Rathvilly means the "Fort with trees" Near Rathvilly village at a crossroads leading to Lisnavagh in County Carlow The motte must have been built to defend and protect the crossroads. This large motte that was once the residence of the King of Leinster who reigned from 443 to 483 AD.
