Ronan Halpin Gallery

About

For generations Achill Island has been attracting artists and writers to it’s western shores, where the constantly changing light and tempestuous elements have proven irresistible. In 1998, well known Irish sculptor Ronan Halpin followed this path and now lives and works outside the village of Keel in County Mayo.

Inspired by the surrounding majestic landscape and seascape, this raw, unspoilt beauty is reflected in his work which is individually handmade using steel, brass and bronze in his own studio workshop.

The Ronan Halpin Gallery is open to the public during the summer months. Alongside his smaller sculptural work, which mainly consist of animals and figurative pieces, Ronan also produces items of furniture, mirrors and lighting.

See the work of Amanda Mac Mahon who creates local landscapes and paintings which document man’s impact on the environment. Ronan’s large scale sculpture commission ‘Sentinel’ can be seen standing over 6 metres tall in the nearby town of Westport.
