Rory Gallagher Gravesite

St Oliver's Cemetery is a well maintained and peaceful graveyard in the town of Ballincollig on the outskirts of Cork City. It has a large car park and is serviced by a regular bus service. Here you will find the gravesite of Rory Gallagher, a world renowned guitarist, with legions of fans still to this day.

The grave is easily found within the cemetery. This is in part due to the plethora of tokens that fans leave on it, from hats, jewellery and plectrums, to the more traditional flowers and plants. However, it is more so because of its distinct headstone. The headstone is a replica of an award that Rory won for International Guitarist of the Year in 1972, and has five separate golden pieces rising up out of a marble base.
