The South Tipperary Genealogy Centre in Cashel, County Tipperary, is responsible for the collection of primary genealogical records and indexing these records onto a computerised database for a specified catchment area.
The South Tipperary Genealogy Centre concentrate on records mainly from the 19th and early 20th centuries including civil births, death and marriages, church baptisms and marriages, land valuations records, Tithe Applotment Books, Griffith’s Valuation of Tenements, 1901 and 1911 census returns and gravestone inscriptions for South Tipperary. Miscellaneous records used include The Civil Survey of Tipperary 1654, Hearth Money Rolls 1665 to 1667, Landowners of Ireland 1871 and more. All of the records are available to search online on the IFHF website and new records are continuously being added.
