Tralee Golf Club
About
Tralee Golf Club in County Kerry was built by Arnold Palmer. This superb setting represents a true paradise for those willing to challenge what is widely acclaimed as one of the finest golf links courses in Ireland. It comes as no surprise to learn that, due to the majestic beauty of this setting, Palmer chose it to be his first and arguably finest golf course in Europe. In addition to boasting a clear view of the Atlantic Ocean from every hole, Tralee Golf Club's challenging course offers magical views. The castles, towering mountains, islands in the distance and the beach that featured prominently in the film ''Ryan’s Daughter'' will captivate you.
The front 9-holes play across fairly level links land on elevated ground and the back 9-holes play through mountainous dunes across to plateau greens. Tralee Golf Club has a resident professional golfer, an impressive pro shop and a spacious restaurant and bar. It has earned a reputation for having a friendly and relaxed atmosphere among members and visitors alike.
The caddies are also club members and so it is not uncommon to find a caddie and visitor sharing a drink and chat in the comfort of the upstairs lounge after a round of golf or two. A trip to south west Ireland for the accomplished golfer would not be complete without playing this exciting golf course. Dramatic dunes made for memorable golf.
